Mid Week Muse | The Maxi

Now that the cat's out of the bag about my pregnancy, I can share with you some items on my wish list for Spring and Summer.  Not that I couldn't before; but you know, now it will all make more sense :)  As much as I hate the idea of being hugely pregnant during ALL of the hot summer months (due date Sept 20th!), the truth is that I prefer summer maternity clothes so much more than winter clothes.  I feel like you can get by with a lot more "non-maternity" items during summer with one of my favorite options being the maxi dress.  I rounded up a few cute ones that I've seen lately that I think will take me from now until the end of the pregnancy.

I love the idea of the sheer bottom to this dress which would hopefully provide some nice air flow in the later summer months! Sometimes the maxi dresses can get hot if they are made with a thick fabric.

I love the colors of this dress and the dip in the back makes it even cuter!

I've seen lots of girls rave over this dress for pregnancy and after and I've finally pulled the trigger. They've come out with new patterns on this dress that are pretty cute (shown below), but I still love all the solid colors the most.

I love the deep V neck of this dress but the truth is that this would probably not do well with my voluptuous pregnancy boobs.

This is a simple, well-priced maxi and I'm always super impressed with my BB Dakota purchases.   I think this could be a nice fit.

What's your feelings on maxi's?? Are you over them or will you still wear them this season??

P.S. I'm also over at September Farm today answering a few questions and participating in a little giveaway.

Don't forget to join Natalie and I tomorrow for another Thoughts for Thursday!  Remember, you can write about anything on your mind or going on in your life.  We love to hear from  you!

  5. Fashion-wise it's so much easier to be pregnant in the summer for sure! The One by Pink Stitch maxi is my favorite and it's such a great dress when you're pregnant, too!!

  6. Love the maxis! Advice about the pink stitch maxi so that you don't make the same mistake I did - try out a smaller size than you would think. I usually wear a 4 and went with a 6 (being that I'm 7 months pregnant) and it was huge and not flattering. I think the 2 or 4 would have been a better choice. So maybe order a couple sizes and compare them!

  7. I loved my pink stitch maxi during pregnancy! It was my savior. I also have a few Tarte non maternity maxis that I loved. I did find that trying to wear a dress and chase Miller with my big belly was tough so I ended up in shorts and tank tops a lot more than I planned but I loved the jean shorts I got from Pea in the pod.

  9. I can so see you in that pink stitch maxi especially! I have a maxi w/ the sheer but the under layer always got hung up and made my dress a bit too revealing haha. I blame that one on F21 quality though.
