Blogger Spotlight | The College Prepster

It's been a few months since my last interview for the "Blogger Spotlight" series, but I'm excited to be back today with the well-known, Carly from The College Prepster.   I've always felt like Carly was a blogger before blogging really "existed."  She started a blog her freshman year of college (8 years ago) and has turned her passion of blogging from a hobby to a full-time career.  She is a NYC gal, southern-raised, who has recently moved to Connecticut.  She has the cutest style and loves to share a little bit about life, fashion, travel and everything in between on her blog.

Here's a little interview to get to know her a little better...

1) You started College Prepster in College obviously. Did you start it on your own or was it an assignment for one of your classes?

I started it on my own because I was really not happy with my classes! While reluctantly studying for exams, one of my friends suggested that I start a blog as a creative outlet... and the rest is history.

2) What does it take to make a successful blog, in your opinion?

Defining success in the right way! If you start a blog for enjoyment, as long as you enjoy doing it you'll be successful!

3) You just launched a new blog design. It looks amazing and I love how easy it is to navigate. What are your favorite changes you've seen from moving to WordPress? And how long did the new design process take??

It was a labor of love! It took just over six months from start to finish. I think the best part for me is finally having something that I'm really proud of. It feels like me! I love Blogger and would still recommend it for bloggers starting out (hello, it's free!), but there are more design things– like my slider– that Wordpress can handle.

4) You recently (a year ago) moved into your new apartment in Connecticut? How is the transition from moving out of the city? (ironically, you just posted about this today!

5) What are the biggest changes that you didn't expect when moving in with your boyfriend? Two good things and two bad :) example: My husband (then boyfriend) used to leave change all over the house and wired hangers hanging on door knobs everywhere and used to drive me crazy!!

Good #1: We get to spend more "down time" together. As opposed to dating when you have to have an excuse for getting together (dinner, watching a movie, etc.), I love the little moments like quiet mornings or working side by side.

Good #2: We learned even more about each other and it works! It was a relief to know we could live with each other and have a great time!

Bad #1: I shed like crazy (#brunetteproblems) and my hair on the ground is always an issue.

6} Do you have dreams of starting your own fashion line one day?

Nope! Managing inventory sounds like my nightmare.

7) What are the biggest lessons you've learned from starting your own business?

Hire people who know how to do things better than you!

8) You have started making YouTube videos and I love watching them!! How did you teach yourself how to make them and edit them? Does Garrett help you edit?

Thanks! I've been doing all the editing! I've always edited little videos and just learn new stuff along the way as needed.

9) How many times a day do you get asked when are you getting married and when do you want babies? :)

All. The. Time.

Blogger Spotlight | Natasha of Hello Happiness

I'm so excited to be back for another edition of our Blogger Spotlight series.  Today, I am interviewing Natasha of Hello Happiness Blog and couldn't be more excited to have her!  She is a beautiful lady that juggles a lot of different roles and always seems to manage it with grace.   I was introduced to her blog through the Five on Friday link-up several years ago and owe that link-up lots of credit for introducing me to many fabulous bloggers.

I hope you enjoy the interview as much as I did :)

1) This month marks 8 years of blogging for you. Can you believe that? What made you start Hello Happiness?

As they say, time flies when you’re having fun! It’s been a whirlwind to see my blog grow and transform and change as I have matured and gotten older and priorities have shifted in life… what started as an online scrapbook of sorts has truly followed me through the most significant milestones in my life [thus far] and I am thankful that so many readers still follow along.

I have always loved to write… whether it was a college journalism class, poetry, songs, etc, written expression has always been something I gravitated towards and since I wasn’t planning on keeping a hardcover diary in my 20s, I thought a blog would be a fun way to document my life and yet still be fun, engaging with my friends, and give me a creative outlet as well.

2) I know you have learned a lot about blogging over the last several years and you have done an amazing job captivating a large audience. What has helped make you a successful blogger?

Oh goodness… that’s hard. Honestly, blogging has changed drastically in the past 3-4 years and I think as a blogger, you have to make sure you’re keeping up with what’s relevant, what your readers want to see, etc. I am constantly asking for feedback, constructive criticism, etc and that helps so I’m not wasting my time delivering content that no one cares about.

However, on the other hand, I think staying true to yourself is the most important caveat when it comes to the world of social media and blogging. I’m an open book, much to some people’s dismay, and I will always tell it like it is… I have no secrets to hide and I promise that I will continue to blog for as long as it is “fun”, but it can be hard when people critique every move you make or how you parent or what you wear, etc.

I think as long as you’re genuine and you are honest, that’s all that matters and the people who want to read and follow will keep doing so as long as you keep them engaged.

3) You consistently post each week and you have really maintained that over the last 8 years of blogging even through a marriage, two kids and a new business. How do you do it and what time of day do you typically like to write your posts?

I wish I was that organized… you make it sound like I have this mastered, but in all reality, my blogging is a hot mess! Sometimes you’ll find me finishing up my Five on Friday post at 6am that morning, whereas at other times, I’ll have a draft post already scheduled to go up 1-2 weeks beforehand. I’m just trying to keep it all together and I’ve been actively working on trying to keep sponsored content spread out after receiving some feedback that people wanted more of the “real me” stuff.

Basically, I drink a lot of caffeine, multitask all day every day, and I can knock out a “normal” blog post in 20-30 minutes, if I don’t have any distractions [usually known as Jeff, Caroline or Carson].

4)  Do you keep a blog planner or calendar and plan your posts out ahead of time or do you typically pick your topics the day before you post?

I guess this is a continuation from the previous question… I do use a Sugar Paper monthly calendar that I jot down ideas, blog post dates, etc to make sure I am on track with my blogging schedule. That helps me see what I have coming up, and deadlines for sponsored posts and collaborations. If I don’t write it down, it’s like it never happened… I am totally someone who needs to have multiple calendars so I don’t flake and have a total blonde moment since I’m trying to balance life as a small business owner, blogger, wife, and mom.

5) You throw the most amazing parties for your girls. That's obviously a passion of yours. What are your best tips for party planning?

I have ALWAYS loved to throw a party… from sorority functions to costume parties to baby showers and such, party planning has always fascinated me. I think the details of a celebration are what makes an event stand out and what makes them memorable for your guests.

My best tips for party planning include the following:
Be Original! I think the party I’m most proud of would be Caroline’s 1st birthday with an “Our Lucky Charm” theme. She was born on her due date, St. Patrick’s Day, and I wanted to celebrate that, but with a feminine touch in a mint and pale pink color palette. And because we had so many adult guests coming, we rented a local food truck to keep everyone happy and full!
Think Outside the Box: scour Pinterest, Etsy, and other blogs for ideas that you can execute yourself… this helps save money and makes your party stand out. Favorite ideas for décor always include fabric tie banners, cardboard letters painted to spell out a name/number, customized paper items [including food tents, favor tags, etc], and food that goes along with your set theme. I think Carson’s Land of Oz Party demonstrated my little one’s love of everything Dorothy and Toto, while still having a cohesive theme!
Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff: I should tell this to myself once in a while because I am extremely detail-oriented and have mastered the execution of everything to do for a party, but if something doesn’t turn out perfectly, it really is OK. I guarantee no one will notice!
HAVE FUN! That’s all that matters anyway… and P.S. take loads of pictures!

6) I just had my second child and still feel like I'm trying to get a good grip on this new dynamic (#gamechanger}. What are your best tips for adjusting from one child to two??

Oh those were the days… is it bad to say I miss them now?? Caroline was just 15 months old when Carson debuted, and I remember thinking “how in the world are we going to pull this off?” The honest answer… take one day at a time, breathe deeply, and never be afraid to ask for help from family and friends.

I think it’s important to remember to have one-on-one time with each of your children. Whether it be a date to the ice cream shoppe, bedtime with more than stories per usual, or just some quality time together playing, don’t let these sweet times pass you by!

My final tip would be to have a “command station” in your entryway, linen closet, mudroom, etc where you have all the car/trip/restaurant necessities and aren’t having to scramble before you head out of the door. In our box, I always kept diapers, wipes, A&D cream, powder, snacks/bottles/sippy cups, coloring books and toys, and any other necessities that you find yourself using when out and about. It’s a lifesaver I promise! **And this always helped daddy out so he wasn’t having to pack the diaper bag, too**

7) You wrote a great post recently called the "Nanny Chronicles." You had just hired a new nanny and were in the beginning stages. How are things going and is there any new advice you would add for someone looking to hire a nanny?

If at first you don’t succeed… try, try again! Our new nanny Kara has been a dream. She is such an active and engaging nanny for our girls and is constantly teaching them and I can absolutely tell a visible difference in Caroline and Carson’s skills, language, and abilities since she came onboard with us.

She lesson plans, schedules out their daily activities in advance, and helps me with Sugar Bit when the girls are off at school two days a week. I think my best advice is be honest when interviewing potential nannies… walk them through a “typical” day, let them know what’s important for you, your kids, and your family, and open communication is something that is a MUST.

8) I know that your word for 2016 was "prioritize." You juggle a lot of different balls. What has helped keep your priorities in order so far this year?

Oh goodness… my word for the year and my “resolution”. I think I have done a good job in the fact I am learning to say no to things I really don’t have time for, but I totally have FOMO (fear of missing out) so it’s a struggle I assure you. Basically, I have to look at my calendar, narrow down the things that I can remove, and learn to balance work versus personal life and obligations. As much as I love girls’ nights out and playdates and such, I have to focus on the things I HAVE to do rather than the things I WANT to do.

Regular attendance at church keeps me accountable, daily scripture and devotional time, as well as to-do lists that I can cross out once I complete are my go-to essentials for trying to prioritize… also search out the Rocks, Pebbles, Sand idea for scheduling your day!

9) You just celebrated Sugar Bit's two year anniversary. Time is flying! What are the biggest lessons you've learned from starting a business on your own?

I can’t lie… I am so proud to be celebrating two years of Sugar Bit that it’s humbling, exciting, and other than Caroline and Carson, my biggest and most fulfilling accomplishment thus far. I did a blog post last year detailing my best tips for starting your own business, but most importantly, I think it involves hard work, a positive attitude, ambition to succeed, and thinking outside the box.

Sugar Bit is a labor of love and I learn each and every day about what works, what doesn’t, how to stand out from my competition, and what matters to our loyal customers and friends.

If you had told me I would ship out more than 4,000 orders over the course of two years, I would’ve said you were absolutely crazy, but I am setting big goals and I’ve got big plans for our little shoppe over the next few years… I am SO thankful to be providing a place for customers to shop online, easily and affordably, and will continue to handwrite a note with every single order for as long as I am able… superior customer service is what keeps people coming back and it absolutely matters!

10) What does a typical day look like for you?

Sometimes I wish there was a “typical” day for me, but I have to be honest and say that every day is different from the one before and that’s how I like it… fast paced, challenging, exciting and never dull. I’m sure a lot of people out there think I am absolutely crazy for how much I tackle, but a full life is a happy life in my case and I want to make each day count… I just posted Part One of a peak into my daily life here! Stay tuned for Part Two to follow.

Thanks so much for having me Annie!!!

I hope you enjoyed the interview and please make sure to link-up with Natalie and I below for Thoughts for Thursday!

Blogger Spotlight | Interview with Natalie Mason of Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers

I am so excited to share a little something different with you girls today.  I always love reading more about each of the authors behind the blogs that I read.  I think we all do.  So today I have a special guest here to share a little bit about herself, her blog and how she runs her day to day life!

Meet Natalie of Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers.

Natalie's blog was one of the first blogs I began reading 4 years ago.  I'm pretty sure I've read it almost every day since!  Her son was only two when I started reading and now he's six.  It's hard to believe how fast time is passing.   Natalie couldn't be sweeter and I'm pretty sure if I hired her as my personal chef, I could lose that last 10 pounds I'm dying to get rid of.  But then maybe not, because we would probably be drinking a bottle of wine together too! Natalie has fabulous style and does an amazing job of keeping it real on her blog which is why I love her most.

Let's get into the questions.  It's a little bit about her, her family, and her tricks to running a successful blog.

1) In just a few months, you will have been blogging for 6 years. Can you believe that? What made you start Designer Bags and Dirty Diapers?

Crazy right?? I can’t believe it has been 6 years. Time flies!
I started my blog right after Sterling (my son) was born. I had been working as an architectural rep and was laid off right before I had him because of the economy. I found myself as a new mom with no job and I wanted a creative outlet.

2) I know you have learned a lot about blogging over the last several years and you have done an amazing job captivating a large audience. What has helped make you a successful blogger?

I think to become a successful blogger the key is to be consistent and post everyday. People like consistency. It is also important to interact with other bloggers. Commenting on other blogs and instagram really helps to build relationships with other bloggers which in turn helps get your name out there and your blog to grow. Also stay true to yourself. It is easy to get caught up comparing yourself to other’s and trying to mimic their blogs or styles. I try my best to stay true to myself. I knew from the beginning when I started my blog I wanted it to be place for people to come for a wide variety of things from fashion, to family, to food and real life. Many blogs have become strictly fashion because that is where the money is but I try hard to stay authentic to the reason I started my blog. Also you have to grow tough skin. As your blog grows there will be people who will judge you and try to make you feel bad about your success or yourself. You just have to brush off the negativity, ignore it and keep your head high!

3) You consistently post 6 days a week (which totally amazes me) and you never miss a day unless you give your readers a heads up ahead of time. How do you do it and what time of day do you typically like to write your posts?

I look at my blog as a job now that it has become lucrative and I try really hard to be consistent. Plus I truly enjoy it and look forward to posting new content. I typically get up before the kids around 5:30 and work, then I work again while Frances naps and again after they are in bed. It is an all day effort to finish a post:)

4) Do you keep a blog planner or calendar and plan your posts out ahead of time or do you typically pick your topics the day before you post?

I am the worst about pre planning my blog. I do keep a notebook where I jot down post ideas that come to me along with reader requests. I try to stick to a loose schedule like on Mondays I always share Scenes from our Weekends, Wednesdays are usually a recipe and Saturdays if I post are weekend deals. That gives me a few days where I don't have to think too hard about it.

5) You obviously love to read and seem to go through several books per month. When do you find time to do this? I feel as a blogger it's easy to get caught up reading other blogs or scrolling through social media rather than picking up a good book.

I totally go through phases with reading but I am a total book worm at heart. I do try and get in bed around 9 or 9:30 and turn off the tv and just read. I sometimes I have a hard time falling asleep and I find turning off the tv and reading helps me relax and unwind. Plus I love a good book!

6) I just had my second child and still feel like I'm trying to get a good grip on this new dynamic (#gamechanger}. What are your best tips for adjusting from one child to two??

Going from one to two kids is such a game changer. My best advice is be patient. It takes time to get in a routinue and good schedule with two kids. Don't beat yourself up. I did this alot after I had Frances worrying about Sterling getting enough attention. It all works out. Two kids is a juggling act and all you can do is give it your best- oh and wine at the end of the day helps too:)

7) One of my favorite posts you wrote was your thoughts on having a third child. So many areas of this post resonated with me. Have your feelings changed any over the last year?

I wish they had but I still feel the same. Part of me really wants another child and part of me is terrified about adding another child to the mix. I didn’t love being pregnant but man that day when you deliver your babies, there is nothing like it. It is the most magical thing meeting your child for the first time. I yearn to experience that again. Since I am now 35 and they consider that “advanced maternal age” (I mean really I am not old) it scares me a bit that I am at a higher risk to have pregnancy issues and birth defects. Things are also starting to get a little easier now that both of mine are getting older and I am gaining a little more time for myself! They will actually sit and play by themselves which is so nice. I can get so many things done and a newborn would be hard. My husband is pretty open about only wanting 2 so I think we are probably done. I can get my newborn fix with my nephews:)

8) You are an amazing cook and fabulous foodie, tell us your tips for planning meals and prepping food all while raising two young kids. Do you like to grocery shop daily or once for the week?

I will be honest I am not the best meal planner. I actually love going to the grocery store so I end up going once a day usually. I do have set days where I cook certain things like Wednesday is always our taco night, Friday we usually order pizza and then grill out on the weekends. Tuesdays are usually when I try out new recipes for my blog. I love to cook, I swear my happy place is in the kitchen (minus the clean up) so I look forward to creating new meals. Sundays are usually my prep day where I will make salads etc for the week to have on hand for lunch.

9) I always love reading your obsession posts and Saturday steals. What's your method for shopping for these posts? Do you bookmark and save cute looks when you are browsing the web that week?

Aww thank you. They are some of my favorite posts to write because I love browsing online! I frequently will make a note in my planner if I see something really cute so I remember it for the next post. But I will be honest I am usually stalking Shopbop and other sites daily looking at new releases! My UPS driver knows me well now, I have quite an addiction to online shopping. I am just thrilled I can share my finds with others!

10) What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day starts around 5:30/6 and doesn’t end til 10. I wrote a recent post HERE detailing my daily life. Nothing too exciting but I stay busy between my blog and Sterling and Frances. I am always exhausted come bedtime but I wouldn’t change a thing!!

The 20 Question Game

I think there may be a few new faces around here lately and I have had this post in my draft box ever since Natalie shared it; so I thought it would be a good time to finish the post and share a little bit more about me!  These always seem to be fun post to read on other's blogs and I hope ya'll enjoy.

Grab a cup of coffee with me and follow along :)

A little about me:
My name is Annie and I'm a 30 year old living in Pensacola, FL with my husband Matt, our son Brody, our Maltipoo Bella and a baby girl on the way due September 20th!
I started this blog initially to document Matt and I building our first house and being pregnant with our first baby.  I mostly talk about my life as a mom, our house, food, and my love of fashion and shopping.

1.Favorite food:
This is tough, but I would have to say Pizza.  I'm such a pizza lover.  Our go-to order is just a half cheese-half pepperoni pizza, but I also love different gourmet pizzas when were out!

2. Flip flops or high heels:
Flip flops and flats are pretty much my standard.  I'm 5'9" so I've always been tall.

3. Favorite places to shop for yourself:
J.Crew (&Factory), Nordstroms, Shopbop

4. Standard Coffee order:
Grande iced coffee with skim milk and Cinnamon Dolce syrup, but sometimes I love a Frap splurge and in the winter I love a Dirty Chai Latte.

5. Road trip must have snack:
Pringles or Cheetos

6. DIY or hire it out?
Hire it out even though I always think that one day I will become a DIY'er

7. Top 5 TV shows:
24, Revenge, House of Cards, Suits,

8. Favorite Book:
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo Series

9.  Favorite Form of Exercising:
Pure Barre these days

10. How tall are you?
5'9"

11. Do you try something new at restaurants or stick to your favorites?
This one kind of depends but mostly stick to a winner!

12. One make up item you can't live without:
Bronzer- I'm kind of obsessed with being tan!

13.  What's on your nightstand?
It's quite the sight these days with all my maternity crap.  I always have a lamp, 2 photo frames, and a tray to corral a candle ring holder and lotion.  But now I have Honest Company Belly Salve, lip salve, Moms on Call Toddler book and nipple cream which I don't need yet.  At bedtime I always have my phone, baby monitor and a glass of water too!

14. What's one thing motherhood has taught you?
There are good days and hard days, but enjoy them all. These babies are absolutely amazing and they don't stay!

15. Music that reminds you of high school:
Dave Matthews Band!

16. If you could live anywhere in the world besides your current city where would you live?
This is a tough one because I am so content where we are right now.  But if I had to name something, I would say that I wouldn't be too sad if we had to move back to Atlanta.  I love it there!

17. Tell us something about you we might not know:
I was SCARED to death of computer class when I was a Kindergartener.  My Mom and I laugh to this day about it.   I had crazy anxiety of breaking the computer I guess and I would cry and my Mom would have to come up to the school.  It was so weird.  We really never figured it out.  I guess I grew out of it because I can't imagine life without computers now :)

18. Websites you read/browse (besides blogs):
US Weekly, Pinterest, Shopping!

19. Morning person  or Night owl?
I don't even know anymore...Kids change everything, but I guess I will say morning person.  I'm really not even that, but I barely make it up past 10pm these days so I can't say I'm a night owl.

20. Favorite Breakfast meal:
English Muffin with bacon and pouched egg on top!

So tell me something about you that I might not know!

A year ago I shared this About Me post and Why I Blog, so you can check that out too!

Thoughts for Thursday : About Me + Why I Blog

Welcome to another Thoughts for Thursday link-up party with Natalie and I.  We are so thankful for all of you who have been linking up week after week with us and for a few new comers each week.  I'm stealing Natalie's idea from last week and sharing a little bit about me and what brought me to blogging.  So read along with a cup of coffee and grab a button at the end of the post and join the party!  Remember, you can write about anything ;-)

NAME/AGE/LOCATION
I'm Annie, a 29 year old gal living in Pensacola, FL (my hometown).

FAMILY
I got married in April 2012 to my husband Matt.  In June 2013, we had our son Brody.  We also have our first born, Bella.  A four year old, 7 pound, white Maltipoo who is extremely jealous of her brother.

WORK
I stay at home with our son, Brody (almost 14 months).  I worked in the family business for 4 years prior to having Brody. I started in sales then moved as the sales and marketing director at our corporate office in Gulf Breeze, FL.  I attempted to go back to work (at least part-time) after Brody was born, but it didn't work well for either party.  So I am very lucky to spend every day with my little man.

HOBBIES
I love to travel, workout, shop and of course, blog.  That's pretty much all I fit in these days.  I used to love to play golf, but never have time for that anymore.  I love my friends and used to hop on a plane and visit them for any occasions possible; but sadly, it's no longer that easy.  I miss those times.  But I am so thankful for my family and hope to have some weddings to attend in the near future to catch up with old friends (hint hint)!!

FAVORITE FOOD
Pizza and all Mexican

FAVORITE COLOR
Blue (all shades of it) and White
I think it's kind of a problem that 3 rooms in my house right now are blue and white and the fourth one is navy blue, white and green!  I love light blue. It soothes me.

STANDARD COFFEE ORDER
Skinny Vanilla Iced Latte (summer)
Dirty Chai Latte (winter) It's a Chai Latte with a shot of expresso

STANDARD BAR ORDER
Stoli Club Soda with Lime or a glass of Cabernet.  If I'm drinking beer - Michelob Ultra.

PLACES I SHOP
For Me: J Crew, Shopbop, Piperlime
For Brody: Online Auctions (Facebook & Instagram) Shrimp & Grits, Gap
For the Home: Duh (local), Wisteria, Homegoods & Ballard Designs

BEDTIME AND WAKUP TIME
I usually like to be in the bed by 9 and asleep by 10pm.  Wake up time is between 630am and 7am depending on Brody.

BEAUTY PRODUCT I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT
Bare Minerals Bronzer ( I <3 to be tan)

WHAT I BLOG ABOUT
I blog about family, food, fashion, travel and life in general.  It seems that the last few months I have settled into a weekly schedule on the blog and it seems to help hold me accountable.
Monday: Scenes from our Weekend (Life)
Tuesday: Taste of Tuesday (Food)
Wednesday: Mid Week Muse (Fashion)
Thursday: Thoughts for Thursday (Random thoughts, loves, complaints, celebrity gossip, whatever...)
Friday: Five on Friday (Any random five things from the week that I feel like sharing or my favorite things from the week)

FIRST BLOG I READ
Sometime in 2009 I found my friend Katie's blog through social media I think.  We went to high school together, but were really more acquaintances.  She was 2 grades older than me.  She married right out of high school to her HS sweet heart and moved to the northeast and started the blog to keep in touch with her family down south.  It was called Confessions of a Young Married Couple and now is Marriage Confessions.  She was so wity, honest and hilarious that she kept me coming back and I was interested in her life as a married woman as I had just taken a leap and moved to a new city (Orlando) for my boyfriend (now husband).

HOW DID I START BLOGGING
After college, I lived in Atlanta for two years with some close friends from college.  We had the time of our lives.  We lived for the weekends and after-work cocktails and spent more money than we made on designer clothes and fine dining!  After two years in the city our group of friends slowly starting fleeting one by one and I was no exception.  I moved to Orlando where Matt was and as happy as I was to be with him, I realized I had no other friends in the city.  I missed my girlfriends and learned about blogging as a way to keep in touch.  You can read my first post on an old blog here.

That {old} blog got pretty neglected as I started becoming busier with work and life got in the way.  Once Matt and I got engaged in 2011, I found myself back reading tons of blogs for wedding inspiration.  Southern Wedding's  being my favorite and it just so happens that I went to high school with Lara Casey, the founder, too! Small world.  After getting married, we were talking babies and starting to build a house and I found myself scouring the blogs learning everything I could about both.  I found so many I loved and found so much inspiration through them all that I finally felt compelled and excited to start Home of Malones.

WHY I BLOG
In the beginning, blogging on Home of Malone's was a way for me to document our journey of building our first home and my pregnancy with Brody.  I am so happy that I have it documented and have already referred back to old posts for so many different things.  Since then, it's become more than just an online journal.  I've seen this blog evolve over the last two years just as I've seen our life evolve.  We've settled as a family in our new home and I've taken to my role as "wife, mother and homemaker."  (Sidenote: My Mom reminded me that when I was in Kindergarten and they went around the room and asked us all what we wanted to be when we grew up, I said "I want to be just like my Mommy. I want to be a housewife." Too funny.)  The truth is though, I really enjoyed working and the adult interaction was so important to me because I love people.  I knew I was going to miss that.  I think I've become more and more involved in this blog since leaving work because I love the community and interaction with all of you and it gives me that sense of accomplishment.  I love learning (even if it's just about shopping or the latest beauty product) and I love sharing what I know or have learned or experienced.  I hope you enjoy what you read because it is real life.  I appreciate all of you for following along and all of the support and feedback that you provide.  It makes my day each and every day :)

I always love reading more about bloggers so feel free to steal this "About Me" idea too!
