Scenes from Our Weekend | Easter

It rained the entire Easter weekend for us, but we didn't let that stop us from having fun and still having a couple of egg hunts.  We had a pretty jammed packed schedule for the weekend with family in town and some fun events. 

Friday night we had the family over to our house for dinner.  Saturday morning we woke up to rain, but still got the kids dressed and headed to the Country Club for brunch and an Easter egg hunt.  They just set up the hunt indoors instead of outside because of the rain.   We managed to step outside for a few quick photos in between rain fall.  We got home just in time for afternoon naps and then that evening we left the kids with my MIL and went out to eat for a fun dinner.  

Sunday the Easter bunny arrived even in the rain and we played with our new Easter toys.  We got dressed up again and headed to my Mom's house for Easter lunch.  It was another great day and the kids still had fun despite all the rain.  We hid some eggs in the garage and they were thrilled!  It's great that they are at the age that they don't know any better anyways!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend!! We worked hard on getting a family picture, but didn't succeed too well.  My hair was miserable all weekend in this weather and Brody wants nothing to do with photos these days.  Thankfully Madelyn is always ready to pose pretty for me  :)

We had a super busy holiday weekend this year as Easter happened to fall on my SIL's birthday as well as my nephew's FIRST birthday.  It was so much fun celebrating his birthday this year and my SIL did an amazing job planning his party.  I have to share pictures from the event.   The part was Saturday and it was Easter themed with our very own Easter Bunny!!!

Sunday morning the Easter bunny made it to our house to deliver Brody's basket.  I couldn't snap a picture fast enough as those small hands went right for the toys!!  

He loved all his toys, but he's pretty obsessed with his new hot wheels carrying case.  I mean it's on wheels!!!

After our Easter basket unveiling, we all got dressed in our Sunday best and headed to 9:30 church which I was pretty proud of.  I wasn't sure we would make it out the door in time, but we were in fact early for church!!  We walked Brody over to the nursery to drop him off and all hell broke loose.  Brody was having none of it!!  Kicking, screaming, hyper-ventilating at the thought of us leaving him.  This is totally crazy to us because he's done this before and been just fine plus it's also where he goes to school 2x a week for months now!!  We were baffled.  Needless to say, the child won and off we went with no church service :(

We headed to my Mom's house for Easter lunch with the family and enjoyed a nice afternoon.  Brody found a few more eggs and ran around in his Sunday bests.  We had another cake (that makes 3 for the weekend) to celebrate my SIL's birthday and closed out a jam packed Easter weekend.  

We had a lot to be thankful for this Easter and loved celebrating with our family.  It's hard to believe that we will be a family of four this time next year!!!

We spent the weekend at home with family and had a few fun things planned.  On Saturday morning our Country Club had a Easter Egg hunt scheduled along with a brunch and photos with the Easter Bunny.  I invited the Grandma's to join Matt, Brody and I for Brody's first Easter Egg Hunt and we managed to miss the entire hunt #momfail.  Apparently there were a couple different times sent out from the Country Club on accident and I was told 10:30am, but it really started at 10am.  Oh well, lets be honest.  Brody wasn't going to be doing much Easter egg hunting and we were just there for the Easter bunny photo op.  

So we got dressed in our best bunny bubble...

But we got one cute family photo from the morning. 

Sunday morning we woke up and got ready for church.  This was the best family photo we could catch on Easter.  

We hosted family at our house for lunch after church.  

Is that the most beautiful vase you have ever seen or what?? I'm obsessed with it.  I can't wait to tell you all more about it later this week.  

My mama gets all the credit for the meal.  She was the cutest bunny chef ever! 

She cooked this amazing dish and I have no pictures to show for it.  I'm a terrible food photographer anyway, but trust me, it's amazing.  You serve it over grits and we cooked biscuits to go along with it and it was incredible.  

We hid a few eggs around the house since the poor child missed his Easter egg hunt and he was more into it than I thought...
