Scenes from Our Weekend | Mardi Gras & Super Bowl Weekend

Sorry to be Debbie Downer over here for the last week as it seems like the only thing I've reported is complaints about sick kids!  Brody seems to be fully recovered and Madelyn finally seems to be on the mend as of today.   We will see if it lasts (fingers crossed).

Brody has been out of school for over almost two weeks now, so I've been desperate to find things to entertain him at home these days.  We broke out some arts and crafts and this paint set on Friday which lasted a whopping 8 minutes I think.  Every minute of peace counts, right????

We had a boring Friday night at home instead of hitting up the Mardi Gras parade up the street since we didn't want to bring the sick kids out in the cold.

Saturday morning Brody was ready for some Mardi Gras festivities, so we let him come play with us for a bit at the Mardi Gras Parade "pre-party."  I wish I had snapped a few more pictures from the day because it was absolutely gorgeous and Matt and I were actually able to escape for a few hours and ride in the float for the parade.

Adams Homes is the family business which was started by my Dad in 1991.  We've been part of the Pensacola Mardi Gras for 25 years now.  That's hard to believe.  I loved the way the shirts turned out this year which shows a picture of my Dad on his favorite pontoon boat with his dog, Aspen.  For those of you that are new around here, we lost my Dad two years ago to cancer.  So the shirts were extra special to me this year.

Madelyn was sick all weekend long and this is one of the very few smiles I got out of her.

We were able to snap one quick family photo before Matt and I headed out to the parade.

Sunday morning we spent the day snuggling up with a movie and some recovery time.  Brody was feeling a lot better by Sunday thankfully.

We watched the Super Bowl at home and I only made it through a little of it before it was time to get Madelyn to bed.  I caught the end and was so happy to see Peyton win it all!! I love those Manning boys :)

And I have to leave you with my favorite commercial from the Super Bowl!  I loved the half time show too!! Beyonce is fierce and Bruno Mars is the man.

I hope everyone is having a great week.  I'm happy to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel over here :)

  5. Those shirts are so special! Very neat! I was excited when the Broncos won, too, specifically because of Peyton. Definitely a Manning fan over here!
