Scenes from our Weekend | Double up Catch Up

I'm happy to be here today.  Back with all of you....

I sadly took a total of two pictures this weekend which I'll share with you, but also decided to play a little catch up and fill you in on some other random things that went on the last week since I completely dropped the ball in the blog world.

Matt snuck off to the woods for two days to enjoy the last weekend of hunting season and me and Brody held down the fort.  Thankfully my Mom was in town and she helped out with this wild man...

Friday night my freshly bathed buddy and I snuggled up in my bed with a little Mickey Mouse movie  and some extra kisses.  We both went to bed very early!  The rest of the weekend was absolutely gorgeous and deserved so many more pictures because it felt like spring but I didn't snag any.  We took long walks outside, played with his water table and outdoor toys and had lots of quality time with his grandma and cousin William.   We did dinner with them Saturday and Sunday night, so it was great to get in some quality family time.

And as I was picking through some photos for today's post, I had to share some random thoughts with you guys.  A few weeks ago, I finally took Brody in to get a haircut.  Honestly, he had already been for 2 haircuts before; so this wasn't his first one.  BUT THIS WAS BY FAR THE HARDEST ONE.  The good news is that it's been a few weeks now and I'm finally recovered, but I was so terribly sad in that moment.  It was so pathetic.  The funny part is that I can now look back and agree with my husband that he really did need one and that he did begin to favor a beautiful little girl :)  {I'll never admit this to Matt though!!!!}

So here's the before hair with his beautiful little girly curls...

And here's the after....which is very handsome but ALL THE CURL IS GONE.  So I'm still a little bitter about that, but I still hold out hope for some curls again...

In other news, I turn thirty this week.  That seems pretty crazy to me honestly, but I'm happy to embrace it.  We're having a party at the house on Thursday which is my actual birthday with friends and family!  I'm happy to be feeling better for the occasion!  I'm so glad that my Mom's been in town to help with the planning and prepping.   Can't wait to share the party details with you because you know how much I love to plan a party...especially one that involves a photo booth :)

 I snuck off to the spa this week with a gift certificate I've had for a few months and got a relaxing facial.  It was just what the doctor ordered.  It felt so good to lie on a table and be pampered and take my mind off of feeling bad.  I love a great facial!  I even vegged out in the relaxation room for awhile and sipped tea and snacked on dried mangoes which were amazing.

I spent a little time on Saturday updating a new tab on the site: Travel.  It was probably because it's about this time every year I start dreaming of planning a Caribbean vacation, but it's also something I've wanted to add for awhile.  We've been lucky enough to travel to a lot of wonderful places together and I love documenting our trips and reviewing our stays.  I rely on personal/blogger reviews a lot when planning our vacations, so I always appreciate thorough reviews from bloggers that are easy to find.  So hopefully this page helps you out in some way now or some time in the future.

And because sometimes you just have to be cheesy, I thought Id' share this Bachelor loving picture with you.  I took a few seasons off the Bachelor/Bachelorette, but I'm back into it this season.  I'm looking forward to tonight!

I hope to be back to my normal programming this week!  Thanks for hanging with me.   I have so many posts in my draft box that need some attention.

  5. I worried about the curls not returning after Caleb's first haircut, but he's had 2 or 3 now, and his hair still wants to curl so maybe Brody's sweet curls will stick around too:) Can't wait to hear more about the birthday plans!!!

  7. My sisters are exactly the same way about their son's hair. They both held onto those curls for as long as humanly possible. Watching littles grow up into tiny humans is so hard but we must remember how lucky we are to be able to witness it! Hugs to you mama!
