Scenes from our Weekend : New Orleans

I have been dying to get over to New Orleans for months (we haven't been since Brody was 2 months) and haven't been able to carve out a weekend.  So we finally nailed down a weekend and me and Brody snuck over there on a Thursday and had a BLAST!  I hated that we had to leave husband at home, but he had to work and then had some work to do over the weekend too; so we bolted :)

Brody's face below pretty much sums up how much fun he had in Nola.  From the minute we got there, he had so much fun exploring my Mom's house and playing with FOUR dogs!  Mom had her two dogs and I brought Bella and she was also dog sitting Joe for my brother and SIL.

We had a fun evening planned for Thursday night when we arrived.  My oldest brother, Brandon, came for the weekend too which was so fun.  We had four couples over for drinks at the house and to see Brody and we picked up sushi and poke salad and served mint juleps and over served ourselves with too much red wine!

On Friday, we headed to the New Orleans Country Club to have lunch.  I have so many wonderful childhood memories here when I used to dine with my grandparents and play by the beautiful oak trees.  So I was excited to take Brody.  I had to sneak a few cute pictures of him playing by the same old, gorgeous oak tree.

After lunch, we came home to play for a few hours and Brody had a blast playing with all the dogs.

That evening, me, Mom, and my bro, Brandon, went out for a super fun and absolutely delicious dinner.   We headed down to the French Quarter for dinner at Restaurant R'evolution.  What an incredible dining experience.  It was so good that it actually deserves its own post, so I will be elaborating on our dinner tomorrow for Taste of Tuesday.

I have to show you one of the dishes from our dynamite dinner.  This is what they call the Death by Gumbo.  That is a stuffed Quail and then they pour the gumbo rue over top.  It was delicious.

We had so much fun and over indulged in red wine again.  I think you can see it a little bit in our teeth on this one :)

Saturday was a fun day filled with an intense exercise class, lunching on Mexican food, and shopping for both Mama and baby!!  I love the shopping in New Orleans and always have to squeeze some in.   Brody was a trooper through all our running around.

Saturday evening I left Brody with my Mom so I could grab a drink and dinner with my sweet friend Meredith.  We got to fit in some fun girl time and then just relaxed on her couch and caught up on life!! That's always my favorite kind of night.

We packed up the car early on Sunday morning because Dad was missing us A LOT!! These two cuties were the best travel buddies and I can't wait to do it again.  We have a busy week ahead of us this week with my niece's graduation and Memorial Weekend vacay so we will continue to be road warriors!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and looking forward to a fun 3 day holiday next weekend!!!
