Scenes from Our Weekend

Last week, my BFF was in town from Australia and I got to squeeze in some quality time with her which was so nice.   We got to enjoy some shopping, lunch time and a fancy dinner with family.

We've been best friends since the first grade and our older brothers grew up being best friends too which was so much fun!  We were all very lucky to grow up together :)

Friday night Matt and I were able to sneak away for a couples date night.  I took this awkward selfie because I watched Kate from {The Small Things Blog} share her tutorial on "Fresh in Fifteen" and I gave it a try.  I've really been trying to get a make-up routine down that is easy and fresh for me.  I'm typically a blush, bronzer and out-the-door kind of gal and I need to work a little harder on that.  I love her tutorial and just added a few of her recommendations to my day-to-day.

Saturday morning was spent making blueberry banana pancakes and watching this guy run around like a wild man!

We headed to a birthday party Saturday afternoon and the kids were all so cute together.  I love watching Brody with older kids because he tries to be just like them.  Sometimes he thinks he's a bit older than he is!!

Sunday morning we headed out to church and this was the face I got when I asked Brody to say Cheese!!

We took him to visit Matt's Dad after church and he had some fun playtime.

We came back home for lunch and nap time before heading out on the boat to visit some friends later that afternoon.

Matt snapped the cutest photo of him during his nap.  Why is a baby sleeping so darn sweet??

The kids had a blast swimming on Sunday afternoon and these two little lovebirds make my heart melt.  They were holding hands down the dock together.  I could just eat them up!!

I'm always sad to say goodbye to the weekend!  I'm looking forward to a productive week though.  Cheers to that!!!

  11. Brody's smile is too funny! My daughter is doing the same thing! I say it is a rectangular smile, and that is when she will look at me! I bookmarked Small Things Blog's 15 Minutes too and I have yet to try it. I think it would do wonders for my self-esteem even if it just means brushing my hair!
