Today is all about the perfect summer cotton dress. I think I have mentioned before that since having a child on the move (and no longer working from an office), my wardrobe has made a shift. I'm now wearing a lot more shorts this summer since I'm on the floor a lot and occasionally I'm looking for a comfortable dress to throw on and look cute. I love the idea of one that I can wear casual for day and then maybe add some baubles and wear into the night.
Shorts outfit to wear by day and dress I wore for lunch with my hubby but could easily could be taken to dinner by adding some more jewels and great heels!
My toughest challenge with a cute summer dress is length. I'm 5'9" and long waisted and have a lot of trouble finding dresses that are long enough. I am often times bending over picking my child up and putting him down and don't need to be flashing the whole world my bootylite hanky pankies!
Here's a few cute one's I've found online that look like they might fit the bill...
If you own any of these, please let me know how the fit is and how the length is!!
Where do you find most of your daytime favorite summer dresses?
My go-to's are J. Crew, Piperlime, Gap, Shopbop, and Madewell. Where am I missing??

I love all those dresses! I'm tall as well so things not being long enough are always an issue! I really want the Madewell sleeveless shirt dress. It looks so perfect to wear for any occasion!
ReplyDeleteLove your choices! I have the opposite problem being only 5'2". I do love jcrew dresses! I go between jcrew and anthropologie a lot (and occasionally Nordstrom).
ReplyDeleteLove these comfy dress options for Summer! I'm really into pineapples right now so I think that one is my fav!
ReplyDeleteGIRL...you are looking good! I'm literally obsessed with that leopard shift dress - shock right!? You HAVE to get it! Thanks for linking up love! XOXO
ReplyDeleteLove the pineapple tee dress- so cute!! And those blue shorts you're wearing - love the color!
ReplyDeleteThat leopard shift dress is all kind of fabulous! I also adore that black romper -- adult onesies are perfect for a busy lady!
ReplyDeleteLove all of those choices! I'm tall too and really struggle with this too. I've found a few cute options at Anthropologie and Jcrew dresses usually aren't that short. It's hard to find cute, baby chasing friendly dresses.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain - long torso and most dresses fit like tunics! I LOVE these options, and I am drooling over the leopard. Thanks for linking up!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteLoving all these dresses! It has been so dang hot lately the only thing I can even think of wearing is a light dress! Hope you are having a great week love!
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem (5'9 and a long torso) with loving dresses that are super short. I've seen the Madwell leopard print one in stores and it's really long! As soon as it goes on sale I'm definitely snatching it up- it's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAh! Love all of these but especially the pineapple print one!!
ReplyDeleteLove that Mosaic shift dress! And lady you are missing Nordstrom!
ReplyDeleteyes yes yes to all of these!! love your picks and style :-)

DeleteLoving that pineapple dress! So cute! I've actually picked up quite a few casual summer dresses from Target before - can't beat their prices either!
ReplyDeleteI love a good "throw on" dress...they make picking out an outfit so easy!
