Madelyn's Watermelon & Flamingo First Birthday

We had so much fun celebrating Madelyn's 1st birthday party this weekend.  I wanted to go with a pink theme and chose watermelons and flamingos and it turned out so cute.  It was fun having one more summer party before kissing it goodbye and welcoming Fall.

If you hadn't noticed, flamingos seemed to be everywhere this summer.  So finding decoration was really fun.  We set up activities for the kids outside including a bounce house and a few kiddy pools and we just socialized and enjoyed the day.   We had a little bit of rain during the day; but we had told the kids to wear their swimsuits, so it didn't put a damper on the party at all!

A friend of mine from high school actually took some professional pictures for me; but while I'm waiting on those to come back, I thought I would share what I have.

These cookies are amazing.  They are from a company out of Memphis, TN.

I set up a Mimosa bar & served some white wine, rose, and beer.

I also made some Summertime Brew which is made of frozen (pink) lemonade, vodka and beer which is always a hit when it's hot outside.  I always love having a good spa water and to keep with the theme, I added cucumber, mint and watermelon to our water.

How cute is this????

I think I was most proud of my balloon garland of all the decorations.  I had seen a picture on pinterest of one and I knew I had to replicate it.  It turned out so easy!! I just blew up the balloons by mouth, took a yarn needle with fishing line and threaded all the balloons on the fishing line until I had as many as I wanted.  It took me maybe 45minutes while the kids were napping.  The hardest part was hiding the balloons so the kids couldn't get to them before I was ready to hang it!!!

In the pink cups are goldfish and cheerios for the kids and I had some flamingo and watermelon suckers and rock candy for kids to enjoy too!

Madelyn had a ball and totally crushed her smash cake.  It was hilarious to watch her.  After several mouth fulls of double fisting, she then just stuck her hands in the cake and started kneading it.  The girl loves to get messy.  It was such a memorable day and I can't wait to see all the pictures from the photographer!

Scenes from Our Weekend | Brody's 3rd Birthday

Hi Friends. Today is a special day because my little man turns THREE!!!  I'm pretty obsessed with this age right now.  I'm trying to do my best to document things because I swear I crack up laughing half the day at the things that come out of his mouth.  He's such a little man now.

We decided to have a small party for him at my Mom's house this year at the pool.  It was a gorgeous day and just had the family over with a couple of close friends and grill some burgers.

When I say I kept it simple this year, I mean it.  There was no theme.  I used left over party decorations that I still had lying around from his 1st birthday party and bought him a generic birthday cake from Publix.  I figured this was about the last year I could get by with it because from here on out he's probably going to be demanding things like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle parties or what ever cartoon is popular at the moment.

He got some amazing gifts which I'll recap in another post because you might enjoy seeing.  I didn't know what to get the kid for his birthday this year, but it all ended up being a success.

Here's a few snapshots of our day...

Scenes from Our Weekend | Birthday + Valentine's Celebrations

We had such a busy weekend filled with lots of fun celebrations.  Prepare yourself for picture overload.

Friday was my 31st birthday and we started the morning off with a family breakfast at my favorite breakfast spot in Pensacola.  I tried this sausage and egg breakfast burrito for the first time and it was dynamite! After breakfast Matt was off to work and I headed home to get ready for a day filled with some more fun birthday celebrations.

I put on one of my new Lilly Pulitzer Sale dresses and headed to the spa for my massage from Matt!

All ready for some relaxation :)

After my massage, I headed straight to Jackson's Restaurant to meet some of my girlfriends for an impromptu birthday lunch.  I say impromptu because the whole lunch came together about 9am that morning which I loved!

My lunch dates plus my brother joined too :)

Friday night we had plans to meet some friends at the Country Club for a casual birthday dinner.  It was perfect even though Brody refused to stay in the "kids room" while we enjoyed our dinner.

I wore my new Lake Pajamas to bed that night that I got for my birthday.  These things are amazing.  I pretty much need every style and every color.  They are the Kissy Kissy or Hanna Anderson pajamas for adults.  The Pima Cotton is so soft.

Saturday morning was gorgeous so we put the kids in the stroller and walked downtown.  We got a bite to eat and took the kids to the Children's museum for a bit.  It was Madelyn's first time and I think she had a pretty good time...

We came home for naps, but did a quick Valentine's project before the kids went down.

Saturday night our supper club group got together for a Valentine's dinner and also celebrated my birthday as well as one others.

This is a terribly fuzzy selfie but I was trying to capture these cute Kate Spade shoes.  The rhinestone bows are so darn cute.

We celebrated in style with a bottle of Veuve and had the prettiest Valentine's table for the group.  My brother and SIL hosted and it was done to perfection!!

Sunday morning I challenged Matt to make us some heart pancakes because he's our pancake maker in the house.  I think he did a pretty good job, huh?  He's even catching on that it's all in the details with the powdered sugar and berry accessories :)

We shared gifts and lounged around for a casual rest of the day!

The Malone kids wish you a wonderful Valentine's weekend and hope you enjoy the rest of your week :)
