Five on Friday

Linking up with the Five on Friday ladies again today...

{One}

My cousin is co-producing a hilarious new web series called Anything Else based on real-life
exploits of a room service employee at a swanky Manhattan hotel.  Watch this short clip and follow their Facebook page here to keep up!

{Two}

My new "About Me" page is up and running and I love it!  Hope you like it too :)  P.S. Thank you to everyone who commented on the new blog design yesterday.  I appreciated the feedback.  We darkened the font a bit because some of you were having trouble reading it, so hopefully this is better for you!  Let me know if you are still having trouble!

Thanks to my girls, Nico and Lala, Brody's 1st birthday invitations have arrived!!  They helped me during my wedding festivities with some amazing swag.  You can see my adorable Welcome Bags for my Vegas bachelorette party here.  I'm obsessed and can't wait for them to go out.  Countdown is on...less than one month till Brody turns ONE!

I made this amazing quiche for dinner last night thanks to Natalie.   Get her recipe here for this Hot Italian Sausage + Kale and Zucchini Quiche.  I absolutely love a quiche because I literally will eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Last night I paired it with an arugula salad with pecans, caramelized onions, shaved parmesan and a home made balsamic dressing.  Mouth.Watering.

||  Balsamic Dressing ||

2 cloves of fresh garlic - minced
1 heaping tablespoon of dijon mustard
3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
Mix in Olive Oil to taste
Salt and Pepper

It saves for several days too!

I debated whether or not to share this one or not because it's quite personal and really not my place to share; but I believe the family will use this opportunity to help any one else they can.  This photo is a picture of a 35 year old son, brother, friend, tennis pro and resident physician that lived in Georgia.  He was also a fellow Florida Gator and played on their tennis team.  He grew up in my small hometown of Gulf Breeze, Florida and happens to be my brother's very best friend since childhood.  It literally breaks my heart as I write this because I will be attending his funeral today.  He took his own life last week after a silent battle of mental illness.  This smile you see is exactly the way you would always picture him.  The most kind, gentle, smart, thoughtful, and lovable guy you might know.  Most close to him would never have known that he battled with depression.  Myself included.  He has left us all far too soon.  I share this because you truly never know what someone else might be going through or when you may be able to lend a hand and help someone through a difficult time.  Please say a prayer for his family and friends during this difficult time.

Even though it was a short week, it sure felt long...Cheers to the weekend again.  See ya next week!

    so so sorry about the loss of your friend. my husband is a psychiatrist and it's amazing how mental illness can effect people. It was really thoughtful of you to include this in your post -- it's important to raise awareness and compassion about issues that affect so many people! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  9. How heartbreaking for you and friends and family of such a young man. I am so sorry for your loss. Mental illness is so different from physical illness, yet just as inflicting and in my opinion so much harder to treat.

    Brody's invites are ADORABLE!! I must look into Nico and Lala - what talent!

    I'm on a huge argula salad kick - I must try this one!
