Scenes from our Weekend | Christmas 2014

It was so wonderful to spend Christmas at home this year and see all of our family.  We spent the weekend before Christmas with hubby's family and celebrated Christmas and exchanged gifts.  It was great to see them and exchange our gifts in person rather than having to mail them all to each other.  We had a family dinner on the 23rd with my Mom and siblings and then had plans for Christmas Eve at my brother's house and Christmas at our house.  It was a perfect few days with lots of family time, good food, and delicious wine...

On Christmas Eve we headed to the Children's Mass at 4pm and then over to my brother's house for an early dinner.  We knew we would all want to be home pretty early to get ready for Christmas the next day and so it made for an easy dinner with the kids.
One day we might actually get a cute picture of these two together and both looking at the camera.
 High Five, Brody!

We headed home that night and I got cozy in my Christmas jammies.  It was time to play Mrs. Clause :)
Matt and I had a blast putting everything together for Christmas morning over cocktails and A Christmas Story movie on TV.

Christmas morning we waited for Brody to wake up and put him in his little Santa suit that his Daddy picked out for him and walked him downstairs.  The first part of this video is pretty funny to watch because he's crying as I walk him downstairs.  It's long though, so you don't need to watch much.

Once he got down stairs and saw what it was all about...he thought Santa was pretty cool.

He loved his new tent and thought hanging out in there and dragging us in there with him was really cool.

Family time in the tent...

After exchanging all our gifts, we picked up the house a little bit and got ready for the rest of the family to come over for cocktails and an early Christmas Dinner.

We snapped a few cute pictures outside and I loved this one of me and Mama.

My SIL showed Brody how to ride his new Radio Flyer tricycle by getting on it with him! She's too cute.

We had a little cousin swing session...

And then ended the night with this delicious red velvet cake.  You may have seen me post a picture of this cake on instagram last week and it may have appeared that I took credit for baking it.  The truth is...MATT baked it.  And iced it.  And triple layered it and food colored it.  He certainly blew me away with his domestic skills.  He will probably regret this later because I will have him do all the baking from now on!

We were able to snap one cute family photo at the end of the night with an extra excited little boy.  He had so much fun with all his new gifts and family.

It was a special Christmas for us all and made me even more excited to see that sweet boy run downstairs next year looking to see if Santa came to see him...
