This week has flown by and I can't seem to keep up! Today's post is some of my random thoughts for the week + what I am thankful for! Here goes...
+ I'm thankful for 3 day weekends!! I can't wait to relax and enjoy the last weekend of summer with my family. Last year for Labor Day, we were in Destin and my brother and SIL told us they were pregnant!! It was also the last weekend before we found out my Dad was sick :( What were you doing last year for Labor Day?
+ I'm thankful for my friends. I love the friends we have made since moving to Pensacola and I miss my old friends. I am excited to be with friends this weekend!
+ I am thankful for my hubby. I'm certain that I don't tell him enough how much I appreciate all the things he does for us around the house and how hard he works for our family. Watching him with Brody now totally melts my heart. Dad's are cute with the newborns, but just wait until they can really start playing...That's when Dad's really shine :)
+ I am thankful for my Mother in Law who spends at least 8-10 hours a week with Brody and plays with him, loves him, and teaches him. She is so patient and sweet to him and provides me "me time." I workout, get my nails done, run errands and grocery shop. I know how fortunate I am to be able to take that time. She also allows us a couple date nights a month. We're very lucky.
+ I'm thankful for reality TV. I am now obsessed with Bachelor in Paradise, Below Deck, Jersey Belle, Naked and Afraid and sadly, I'll still watch Dating Naked if I see it on.
+ I'm also thankful for Netflix because hubby and I are loving House of Cards and I still need to finish OITNB.
+ I'm thankful for Ina Garten. Since I bought one of her cookbooks last week, I have cooked two recipes this week (can't wait to share with you) and I have two more appetizers to try out this weekend! They were both so delicious!!
+ I'm thankful for my Rocksbox subscription for keeping me hip and bedazzled! I just got my second box and I have the perfect outfit planned for this weekend to rock my new jewels. {You can enjoy a free month here}
+ I'm thankful for auto draft during Fantasy Football. I'm in a league for the 2nd year in a row with a group of sorority sisters and I'm still as clueless as ever with how it all really works. Is anyone else in a fantasy football league this year???
+ I'm thankful for the opportunity to send Brody to a Mother's Morning Out program. I'm excited and nervous, but mostly excited. I think it will be great for him. He's 14 months old now and even though I wouldn't mind him being a little older (I had to enroll him for this school year or he had to wait an entire year), I think he'll do fine. Pray for me next week when he goes for his first day!
+ I'm thankful for all of you and this blog. I've seen several bloggers ask for some feedback from their readers over the last couple of weeks. I think the changing of the seasons is causing a little writer's block for some of us. I've had so much fun reading the comments from those blogs and getting new ideas. You know what I love best? So many readers responses included all things that get to know the blogger better. They wanted more house tours, more day in the life posts, more about what you eat and how you manage your day. I love how nosy we are. What do you love to read about most??

Right now we have plans for Labor Day but a lot to be thankful for, just as you said.
ReplyDeleteThat should have said "no plans"...
ReplyDeleteMy son just started preschool this year and it's been a transition. He's 19mo and has always been with me. MMO is a great way to help them ease into preschool. It might be hard at first (I cried like a baby) but you both will make it through. Good luck!

ReplyDeleteI love that pic of you and Brody at his MDO- it will be so good for him to be out and socializing and for you to have a break! I so wish we had one of those programs up here. I love this post idea- I might have to steal it from you! Bachelor in Paradise is my favorite... I love all the crazies. I'm so ready for a 3 day weekend too
ReplyDeleteLove the random thoughts! That pasta dish looks amazing! Can't wait for the recipe! Good luck with the MDO! I'm sure Brody will do great!
ReplyDeleteYour MIL definitely sounds awesome!! My mom does that for me too - comes over so I can get out and run some errands, because with 3 kiddos I am way too scared to take them with just yet, LOL. We just did our sibling fantasy draft last weekend and while I didn't auto draft, I did google who I should pick because I have no clue!

ReplyDeletebring on the three day weekend!! Is there really anything better!! We loved HOC - flew through the seasons and anxiously awaiting the announcement of when the third season will air!!
ReplyDeleteHouse of Cards gets crazy good! I still need to finish Season 2 of OITNB!
ReplyDeletemmmm can't wait to read your recipes! and i'm thankful for how nosy all of us are too!!
ReplyDeleteA @ as the wine cork turns
I love this post!
ReplyDeleteI've wondered about Rocksbox! I'll have to check it out.
We LOVE House of Cards. We finished OITNB embarrassingly fast, but it's just so good.
Have an awesome labor day weekend!
I just started watching Jersey Belle this week and I'm hooked! As much as I love my Real Housewives, it's nice to see a show about women that are actually friends and care about each other! Hoping you're going to share that Ina Garten pasta recipe... YUM!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog a few weeks ago and now look forward to reading it daily! You have such a darling family and also a fresh, inspiring, yet down to earth voice to your daily musings. Thanks for sharing a bit of your life with us!
ReplyDeleteI just signed up for Rocksbox last week and my jewels are on the way! I love the pieces they sent you!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! Thanks for hosting the linkup every week! It's fun to be a part of!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post!! THis is one of my favourite link ups!! and I can't wait for this 3 day weekend as well!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so guilty of watching Bachelor in Paradise. I am always say I'm not going to watch the trash and then it sucks me in. I love how they are all coupled up after like one day....true love I tell ya.
ReplyDeleteI especially love what you wrote about your husband and mother-in-law. So sweet! There's so much to be thankful for. What a nice post! And I looooove that necklace! My fave things to read in blogs are little looks into their lives...nothing too personal...just the fun stuff, like hobbies, lists of random things about me, fun things about their kids (like funny things they say and do), and talking nicely about their husbands. Stuff that is carefree, real, fun, positive, and down to earth. I also like recipes and DIY. ;) What do you like to read in others' blogs? Thanks for hosting! -Jess @ Sweet Little Ones
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! Love hearing what others are thankful for! I'm looking forward to this weekend as well (I have a 4 day!). I mentioned your blog in my Thoughts for Thursday post today! Your blog is one of my favorites so I had to give you a shoutout! Can't wait for your next post! :)

Love everything that you're thankful for! If I did Fantasy Football, I'd do an auto draft too, because I have no clue about Football. My husband is part of two teams and he's obsessed! I can't wait to hear about the recipes that you made! Also I just started watching Naked and Afraid and I can't stop watching it!
ReplyDeleteI thought it was interesting too that most bloggers wanted to read about personal stuff. Guess all the fashion posts and shopping posts aren't as interesting as they may think! I know I love a deep post about what's really on your mind or what's been going on lately over your favorite clothing items for the week! I can look that stuff up online just like they did. But I can't live their life and or know what's going on so that's what's more interesting! Enjoy your long weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey girl!! I nominated you for a Liebster Award! Check it out - http://lifeasyouliveit.blogspot.com/2014/08/liebster-award.html
ReplyDeleteGoodluck with mothers morning out this week!! I'll be thinking of you and Brody! I love this post. It's always good to remember all we have and to show gratitude.
ReplyDeleteYour MIL sounds amazing!! Can I borrow her?? My little guy is just a month older than yours, and he LOVES the gym's daycare. I bet Brady will have so much fun at the Mother's Day Out program. You'll probably find that he'll look forward to going! Now that it's in our routine, sometimes Piglet will just head into the daycare and run off to play without a backwards glance at me. Sniff!
