Thoughts for Thursday | Confessions + Giveaway

Welcome to another Thoughts for Thursday.  Today I thought I would share some random confessions and also let you know that my friend, Jess at The Newly, is starting a Confessional link-up on Thursday's too.  Hopefully you can join along with both because random Thursday thoughts and confessions are my favorite to read :)

So here are my "off the cuff" confessions today:

+ I confess that these last two weeks have been some of the hardest in my "motherhood career."  Two sick kids have kicked my ass. Thankfully Brody is well now and Madelyn is on the mend.

+ I confess that I'm kind of pissed that I even bothered putting the effort in over the last few months to put Madelyn on a schedule because it's all gone down the drain in just one week.

+ I confess that Madelyn is crying right now as I type this (8:48pm Wed) and it's like she's completely forgotten how to fall asleep at bedtime.  Or she falls asleep and then is awake in 10 minutes.  It's miserable.

+ I confess that it's my birthday tomorrow and I honestly can't even get excited.  And I love birthdays and any excuse to celebrate.  So hopefully I come around soon.

+ I confess that all I can think about lately is Spring and Summer being here.

+ I confess that I've grown a hatred towards winter and I live in Florida.  It doesn't even get very cold here.

+ I confess that we booked our summer vacation last week and it's all I can think about.  We decided to take the whole family this year and keep it close since we now have two young babies.  We're going to Rosemary Beach in June and I'm counting down the days!!!

+ I confess that we're having a little Valentine's Day playdate at the house tomorrow and I think it will be just what I need to get me out of my little funk and excited for the holiday weekend. We have some fun things planned for the weekend and I need to make the most of them!

+  I confess that I have so many fun and exciting ideas for the blog lately and I struggle between finding the time to write them and catching up on my sleep.

+ I confess that I loved Liz's post yesterday on "Wanting it All."   I think so many of us that are Mom's can relate.  She writes a super popular blog and now has a beautiful new baby and is trying to find the balance in doing both.  It's hard.  That's all I know.  But it's so important to keep a piece of ourself through this whole motherhood journey.

+ I confess that my friend Megan started an adorable new monogram shop on Etsy called, Weeping Willow Monograms, that you need to check out.  She so kindly sent Brody the cutest new "My first Tervis" sippy cup knowing how much we need these in the hot summer months to keep our drinks cold.  It's my favorite so far because it DOES NOT leak.  And if you know anything about sippy cups, you know they ALL leak.  He's obsessed with it too which makes it twice as good.

She is giving one away to a lucky reader.  You can enter the giveaway below.  And if you don't have kids, don't worry.  We've still got you covered with these adorable Bev2go cups too.

For those of you that don't win, we have something for you too!! You can use code HOMEOFMALONES10 through the end of February to receive 10% off your entire purchase.

  1. Hopefully the playdate will help get you out of the funk you're in. I'm sure you're also exhausted having dealt with both of your kids being sick, which is not easy, and not fun. Add in exhaustion and it's easy to feel down about things. I hope everything turns around and you have a wonderful birthday!!

  3. May Spring come quickly and stay longer than normal!

*Happy Birthday! Mine is the 12th too and I really don't feel like celebrating either. But we must! Growing older is a privilege denied to many.

  11. I love these confessions as I feel the same pain (i.e. hatred for winter and I live in LA, and the forgetting to sleep). Love for you to stop by my weekly Weekend Wear linkup tomorrow (Fridays).

  12. It's gotta be so hard with two sick kids!! Glad they're getting better though! Oliver's wonderful sleep has turned to crap too ever since he turned 16 weeks. Guess it's the 4mth sleep regression. Every night it's a new time he's awake or a battle to get him to even go to sleep! I hope you have a wonderful birthday! And just remember everything is a phase! And as for finding time to blog, I have none these days. If it's a choice between spending time with my family and baby I always choose my real life over my internet life. My blog can wait but this precious time I have with Oliver while he's still young, won't!

  13. Hang in there, Momma! I feel like I'm in a funk right now as well because I HATE JANUARY AND FEBRUARY SO MUCH! Like, seriously, can we please just skip those months?! I'm so ready for warmth and sunshine and green grass... no more dead brown grass! Haha.

  14. Annie, thank you so much for sharing about the confessions link up! I appreciate the shout out:) I hope that you have a very special birthday - with hopefully some very glorious sleep. Sick babies are the absolute WORST! It's just exhausting for everyone involved when the kiddos are sick. I'm glad Brody is better, and hopefully Madelyn will be back to 100% very soon too! And I am SO with you on being ready for winter to be over and done. We booked a trip to Rosemary last week - going in May and can't wait! Come on Spring!!!

  17. My little nugget baby does the same thing when it comes to sleep! Why do they fall asleep and make us think they're actually going to stay asleep?! Ten minutes later they are up and not happy. I am praying that one day Oliver stays asleep for longer than minute increments. I hope your week gets better soon!

  20. I've been in the worst funk lately too!! Sorry that you've had such a hard two weeks. That was me a few weeks ago. Two sick babies is so tough. Thanks for sharing Liz's post today, I feel like that so much right now. It's so hard to find the energy some days after being mom all day. Hope the play date and your birthday are fun tomorrow!

  25. I feel your pain on the sick front. My whole fam has been battling colds/coughs for a few weeks. My toddler who used to sleep great is up at all hours of the night coughing. Here's to warmer weather and less germs! I'd love to win a sippy cup :)
