Today's my birthday and I'm actually turning 31 years old which is pretty hard to believe. I didn't really have a problem turning thirty last year, but it seems kind of weird now that I'm going "into my thirties." I'm happy to embrace it though. I'm excited for the year ahead. I'm excited to enjoy my babies. I'm excited to not be pregnant. I'm excited to travel and just enjoy life with no huge life changing events on the horizon.
In honor of my birthday, I thought it would be fun to share 31 random facts about myself that you may not know. I hope you enjoy them :)
1. I would choose a bath over shower any day.
2. I love to fly and have never been scared of it.
3. I'm dying to learn calligraphy and plan to do it this year.
4. I only applied to two colleges. University of Florida and Harvard {insert laughing/crying emoji}. I was being recruited to play soccer, so that's the only way I had a chance at getting into Harvard.
5. I went to University of Florida.
6. I only played soccer there for 3 months. I got burnt out quickly.
7. College was like the best time of my life.
8. I never held a single job until my first job when I graduated college. #embarrassing?
9. I worked at Chase Bank and wore a suit and high heels every day. That's a far fetch from my current "work attire."
10. I still refuse to sell or giveaway all my suits from that time period of my life. I loved them and still can't seem to part with them even though I'm certain I'll never wear them again.
11. I have a major sweet tooth and have spent my whole life trying to tame it.
12. I was a super athletic child. I played soccer, tennis, softball, track and volleyball. I hated basketball. I hope my kids are athletic too.
13. Breakfast is my favorite meal.
14. I've always been quick with numbers but struggled in English Lit. I got my first (and only grade school) "C" in the 5th grade in reading and I'll never forget it.
15. I took 4.5 years of French in high school and college but pretty much have nothing to show for it.
16. I love a good excuse for day drinking and pretty much mastered this in college.
17. I've always wanted three kids and they we will have them, but it scares the shit out of me.
18. I have an obsession with children's clothes. I should probably have 6 kids just so I can dress them.
19. I love people and friends are very important to me; but as I get older, I realize I really only have time for a few really close friends.
20. With that said, the best of friends to me are the ones you don't talk to for months; but then see each other and it seems like no time has passed.
21. I love going to concerts of any kind. Matt and I just went to Barry Manilow and it reminded me that I don't even care if I don't love their music. I still love watching live music.
22. I love cooking and trying new recipes, but I hate meal planning.
23. I've been a subscriber to US Weekly since my Sophomore year in college when my cousin bought me a subscription for my birthday. #guiltypleasure
24. My husband worked for my Dad when I met him.
25. We dated in secret for 4 months before we told him.
26. Matt is 16 years my senior.
27. Do you see why I might have been scared to tell my Dad?
28. My Dad was the most lovable teddy bear that always brightened any room he walked in. You could always count on him telling you the best story that you've probably already heard 10 times.
29. My family means everything to me. I have two older brothers and an amazing Mother.
30. I'm so thankful for how much my family has grown over the last four years since marrying Matt.
31. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world and always try to see the positive in every situation.
Sorry those started to get a bit cheesy at the end :) Hope you enjoyed.

ReplyDeleteHappy, happy birthday gorgeous girl! I hope you spend the whole weekend celebrating (with healthy kiddos!) xo
ReplyDeleteOh girlfriend, we have WAY more in common than I even thought! HAHAHA!!! First, GO GATORS!! I ended up not going to Florida (was born and raised a gator) and went to The University of North Florida as they were recruiting me as well to play soccer. I played soccer for 15 years and was too very athletic growing up. I was a competitive swimmer and soccer player, and played tennis, golf, basketball, and tried softball once. I would 100% choose a bath. I HAVE to take one every single night. It's a must. Totally prefer day drinking. Children's clothing (especially anything smocked) is a true obsession. I could keep going! haha! Loved this post and Happy Birthday!!! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! Love getting to know more about you! Cheers to 31! xo, Champagne&Suburbs
