Welcome to another round of Thoughts for Thursday! Write about anything your little heart desires, grab a button below and link back to Natalie and I. Oh, and don't forget to hop around to other bloggers and introduce yourself. Katie wrote a great post yesterday about "getting more comments on your blog posts" and meeting other bloggers from link-up parties is a great way to do that!!
+ I came back from NYC on Monday and when I walked into Brody's nursery, this is what I saw...
Every pillow in our house had been thrown on the floor in Brody's room because Matt and his Mom were convinced that Brody had thrown a leg over the top of the crib and was trying to escape! Now, I honestly don't think this is exactly what happened. Although I don't think it will be long before he can climb out. I think they actually saw an arm in the baby monitor instead of a leg and freaked out a bit. But that's okay. I'm glad they were keeping a good eye on my child while I was gone :)
+ While I was in NY, Matt sent me a link to this Popup Crib Tent and said we will be needing one. This thing is $200 buckeroos! Do you think this is really what I want to spend my money on???? We need to figure out if he's really capable of climbing out yet or get ready to transfer him to his big boy bed (which I'm completely not ready for yet)! Has anyone else had these issues yet??? Did your children climb out of their cribs before realizing you needed to move them to a toddler bed??
+ I love shopping for the little man on the holidays. I've picked out a few cute things for my "mini Valentine" this year that I think he will like! Do you buy Valentine gifts for your little one??
Melissa & Doug Animals Mini-Puzzle Pack
Llama Llama I Love You
Munchkin Sesame Street Toddler Fork and Spoon, Elmo
OXO Tot Twist Lid Straw Cup (7 oz.) - Aqua
+ In other news, I'm still quite devastated with the closing of Piperlime. I'm shocked! I just loved having this as an online retail option and ordered quite a bit from the shop. Their shipping and exchange policy was awesome and they have so many great brands to choose from. I read that they were trying to compete with Zappos. I mean, I love Zappos and all, but they hardly come close to comparing to one another in the fashion sense. Oh well... I guess I will be looking to Nordstrom's and Shopbop a little bit more in the future. Where do you see yourself shopping more online once Piperlime closes down???
+ Lastly, I would like to introduce my very first sponsor of the new year, Kelsey!! I'm so happy to have her and let her share a little bit more about her and her beautiful family. Plus she has a little giveaway surprise for all of you at the end :)

I'm glad Brody survived your trip away! My youngest tried to climb out a few times and it freaked my husband out way more than me. We didn't go with a tent but instead just moved her to a big girl bed with side railings and that worked out really well. She's our little monkey so I'm not at all surprised!
ReplyDeleteomgg all those pillows! that tent seems kinda extreme... maybe he is ready for a big boy bed? i have no idea when toddlers move into "real" beds tho.. i love your valentines gift ideas -- im going to get something for little violet when she is old enough to know what's going on ;) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteLaughing so hard at all those pillows! My son is 2 years old and has made 1 attempt to get out of his crib- he got his knee stuck and hasn't attempted since. I'll leave him confined to the crib as long as I can {I have a 2 month old as well!} but if he starts to try to escape lol, we'll just switch him to a toddler bed! Glad to be following Kelsey!
ReplyDeleteI'm still so sad Piperlime is closing!! Such a bummer! And so funny about the pillows - hoping he doesn't escape for you anytime soon!
ReplyDeleteI was so sad to hear about Piperlime as well! Hoping they have some good sales in the next few months!
ReplyDeleteI've never thought of Zappos and Piperlime as similar stores! Zappos is more shoes and sale clothes and Piperlime is more high end. I'm sad about it closing too. I love their Sabine line!
ReplyDeleteAlly - Life as I know it
Good luck with the potentially escaping baby problem. I thought it was so funny to see all those pillows on the floor, but I would, and may, do the exact same thing.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe they're closing too! Crazy. Laughed out loud at the pillow floor haha, too funny.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh those pillows are hilarious! I don't know when kids transition to toddler beds, maybe that is in his near future?! haha Love the little Valentine's gifts, I think I'm holding off for Easter for our little guy's first goodies :)
ReplyDeleteThat pop up tent crib looks awesome haha! Random question - where did you get your monogram pillow shams? I'm looking for new bedding for our bedroom :) And love finding new blogs to follow!
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck...had no idea Piperlime was shutting down!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha too funny about the pillows! I'm glad they were looking out for him and he was extra safe! :)
ReplyDeleteThat pop up tent is awesome and I bet you could get at least half back if you have to buy it and resell later. It's like Cinder...man's...? carriage!
ReplyDeleteI have entered and would love this! ;)
ReplyDeleteToo funny about the pillows! I hope it was just a fluke for your sanity anyways. I'm sad about piperlime as well.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the pillows are too funny! Avery started climbing out of her crib at 18 months and we switched it to a toddler bed with a long guardrail, which oddly enough neither of my children would climb out of!
ReplyDeleteUmmmm hilarious about their safety net under the crib! Too cute
ReplyDeleteHahah I would have freaked out too! That pop up tent though is pretty darn funny. I can't speak from experience but I have honestly never even heard of those before! Maybe take out the bumpers so he doesn't have something to step up onto...?
ReplyDeleteMy professional advice (since I'm not a parent but worked with babies and toddlers for years) I would leave him in the crib and if needed get the tent but see if you can find one for cheaper. I had clients that used them and I never knew they were that much! If you take him out of the crib too soon he may wander and get up and down a lot which won't be fun! But that pic of all the pillows is hilarious. A bit much?! Glad they were thinking!! Haha! Hopefully it was an arm since he seems young to be climbing out already!
ReplyDeleteSO bummed about piperlime too. fingers crossed they have a heck of a sale!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny - all the pillows!! And Piperlime closing?!! That's devastating news!!! Thanks for the love, sweet Annie!!! :)
ReplyDeletehahah all the pillows are hilarious!! I cant even. Parents are the funniest and most precious things :) Anything for babies. Seriously though I just showed my mum and she said "Thats so cute I wouldve done the same thing"
ReplyDeleteI love the DIY ticket display, how neat and different is this, would look great in the den of our home. Going to have to start getting back into my crafty ways. (for the giveaway: I also commented on the "Zucchini Cream Soup" post)
ReplyDeleteLove the pillows surrounding the bed!! That's too funny. Miller has not tried to climb out yet and I'm hoping he won't until he's well over 2 :) I'm not ready for a big boy bed yet! A girl in my playgroup has a tent for her son who's the same age as Miller and Brody and it works great. She said ever since she put it on he hasn't tried to climb out. I just ordered a few gifts for the boys for V-day- nothing too big. Love meeting your new sponsor Kelsey!
