Thoughts for Thursday | First One of the Year

Welcome to the first Thoughts for Thursday of the new year!  We hope you will all join in on the fun  and link-up your random (or not so random) thoughts of the day with us.  You can write about anything and everything and include a button at the bottom of the page and share your thoughts.  Here are mine today and they happen to be pretty random:

+ I've stepped into my closet three times so far this year with the intentions to start cleaning out and getting rid of some clothes and I have yet to remove one item.  What does that say about me???  Honestly, I think it's mostly because I feel super uncertain with giving anything away at this point with the possibility of me getting pregnant again in the future looming.  I want all the options I can get when that time comes again....

+ I bought a half dozen macaroons at a local bakery the other day for Matt and I to enjoy for dessert.  Matt had them at a wedding and I think he devoured about 20 of them and hasn't stopped talking about them since.  I knew they were expensive, but do you know how much I paid for six of them??? Fifteen dollars....that's insanity!  So much for the austerity program we started in 2015 :)

+ This little guy went back to school this week which has been nice because he tends to get cabin fever at home with me, but I must admit.  I do miss him.  He's become so curious and fun to play with  and these smiles just melt my little heart.  He demands that I sit on the floor with him and play and if I'm not he will come and grab my hand and drag me on the floor!

+  I spoke about my goals yesterday for 2015.  One of them was to read BOOKS.  The good news is I have already started one and it feels so good to be back into it.  I think I picked this one up last summer with the hopes of reading it and never did.  Anyone else read it???

+ I'm starting to think about my 30th birthday which will be here next month (yikes) and I've fallen in love with this party decor.   The best part about planning this birthday party is that last month I won a $500 gift card to Minted!!  How awesome is that??  So basically, I have money to BLOW!!! I definitely think of myself as the person that never wins anything and I won it on Paloma's blog at La Dolce Vita.  And if you know her blog, then you know there was a lot of competition.  I felt like I was the luckiest lady on the planet that day :)  And you know how much I love to plan a party....

+ Lastly, did anyone else happen to catch this interview with Bill Rancic about how his life changed when he asked Giuliana to marry him??  It's funny and super adorable.  They always make me laugh and I love the part about the prenup!  Does anyone know when there show is coming back or if they have a second baby on the way???

Okay, now it's your turn!

  2. 30 is going to be so great and easy for you--no worries here at all!
$15 for 6 macaroons??? wow! I definitely should have gone into the macaroon business!!!
I've read that book and I thought it was different. Not bad, not something I would rave about. It's an interesting concept. I reviewed the book on my blog back when I read it. Once you're done with that book take a look at some of the others I've reviewed--I read some really great books last year! :)
    Happy Thursday!!

  3. Love G&B! I kinda got out of the habit of watching them but they're so great. Although, I have to say that I miss G with long hair. I don't love her short hairstyles. Also? Your little man is too adorable. For real.

  6. If you do another closet clean out I can't wait for the blog sale!!! Macaroons are amazing - the first one I ever had was in Paris and I'm pretty sure one alone was close to $8 LOL! Hope you have a great day girl! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston

  9. I read that book over the summer, it was pretty good! It's not my usual style but I enjoyed it and it was a pretty quick read. Those macaroons look amazing - hopefully they're worth the price ;)

  10. Oh my closet is like that too! Also I have to agree, the cost of macarons is absurd but they are a pain to make so I kind of get it. Try the ones from Trader Joes! They are actually really good and about half the price!

  11. Undoubtably, I really need to try some macaroons. Everyone always reaves about how wonderful they are! However, they are so expensive! Maybe I'll just figure out how to make them myself. Lol! My 24th birthday party is next week and I haven't planned a thing... Blehhh... I'm really liking the decor you have in mind for your party though! It's going to be super cute. :)

  12. I love Giuliana and Bill! They seem so real - really hope that they make it for the long haul. On a random note: wish she would grow her gorgeous hair back out. The bob was cute for a while, but she looks fabulous with long hair. Congrats on winning the giveaway! Turning 30 is a big milestone, and now you can make it really fun with a bunch of cute decor:) And finally...closets. Oh, closets. I used to be terrified of mine because it was just so full of clutter, and I felt like I never really knew what I had. One day, I decided to attack it, and it's been so much better since then. The maternity clothing all went into a storage tub under the bed (which has been retrieved since I am currently pregnant) and I was pretty ruthless with everything else. I got rid of SO much stuff. And felt so much lighter afterwards. It was crazy! Now I have a better idea of what I have and what I need. It makes getting dressed a lot easier. So, long story short - I am a big proponent of clearing out the closet. You can do it, Mama!

  13. I like to splurge on macarons every now and then too! They are sooo good! Little Brody is just the cutest! Congrats on your minted giveaway winnings! You will have a fabulous 30th birthday!

  14. I have to really force myself to purge in my closet....I always have that but what if thought and end up putting items back. I read the book over the summer and loved it....it drew me in and I just couldn't put it down until I finished. I also loved What Alice Forgot. I want to read more as well but I really have to force myself to sit down and just do it! I love when I do.

  15. Believe it or not, bill and Guiana are our neighbors!! They live in a high rise down our street! Bill couldn't be nicer or hotter, and G Is crazy thin but they seem like a really sweet couple, I hope their show comes back soon!

  16. Ooooh how exciting that you won the Minted giveaway! That decor is gorgeous, perfect for a 30th birthday!! It's really hard for me to purge my closet too, I get so attached to clothes, even ones I hardly ever wear!

  17. I love Giuliana and Bill so much, like I cried during the episode with the birth of their child because I love them so much. I need that show to come back on asap.

  19. Yay for winning that awesome giveaway!!! Minted is so awesome!! I would probably eat 20 macaroons and pay $100 for them because they. are. so. good!

  20. Love macaroons, but they are ridiculously expensive! Special treats only I guess. :( That is awesome that you won a Minted giveaway! You should definitely go all out for 30! Love the party decor look that you posted too. Have a great day lady!

  21. Yay for 30 (mine's in April!). Love the party decor ideas. You just can't put a price tag on macarons hah. They are priceless IMO ;)

  23. Congrats on winning the giveaway! I feel like I never win anything either so it's like you won the lottery when you do! I've been so bad about reading lately too. I wanted to read Bernadette last summer as well and even saw it at Target the other day and didn't buy it. Maybe this summer I'll finally get to it! I like the idea of you having another baby!
