Thoughts for Thursday | My Workout Schedule

Hello Friends!! Today we're talking fitness.  I've casually talked about fitness a couple times around these parts, mostly when I gave my postpartum updates at 12 weeks {which happens to be one of my most viewed post ever} and 20 weeks.  Now that it's been over a year, I feel like they shouldn't really be called postpartum updates anymore.  So, I'll just call it my workout routine :)

I have a trip to the Bahamas coming up in November and another trip in December and I'm anxious to crank up the cardio and lose a few pounds.  I consistently work out 3 to 4 days a week, but I got into a great routine last week that I'm hoping to keep up through the end of the year.  Obviously, the holidays always get tough; but I want to aim for that in hopes that I can at least keep it up until my Bahamas trip.

I'm working out 2x a day on Monday and Wednesday's which has felt really good.  I take Brody to the children's care at the gym for my spin classes in the morning and then in the afternoon, I workout with a trainer for 30min and do the elliptical.  I'm pretty much completely exhausted by the end of these days...

On Tuesday and Thursdays when Brody goes to MMO, I hit the gym to get some cardio and do some abs.  I'm pretty exhausted come Friday, but I'm trying to squeeze in this spin class in the morning.  I always have trouble getting my exercise in on the weekends, so it helps if I can get everything in M-F and it's just a bonus if I do something one day on the weekend.

Here's what my schedule looks like for the week.  I will be posting this every Thursday for awhile and checking off the items that I complete.  You will see that this week, I missed the workout with my trainer on Monday; but I did make it to spin.

I even made a blank one for you guys that you can save.  I recommend using picmonkey to edit it.  I would love it if you joined me in sharing your workouts each week!  We could help hold each other accountable and keep everyone inspired :)  I love hearing and seeing what others do for their weekly workouts.

I'm still excited for our Pure Barre to open at the end of this month and add some of those classes to my weekly work out routine.  I love to change things up, but hopefully I can keep this schedule going for awhile.  That is as long as Brody can stay healthy and my knee doesn't cause me too much pain :)

What are your favorite workouts?  How many days a week do you try and exercise??

  1. I'm impressed that your workouts are so consistent and organized! I would LOVE to take Barre classes, but my time/budget don't allow right now. (I have 3 little ones!) I heard they sell videos though which I am going to look into!

  6. You've got a great schedule going! I'm so slack about working out. I'll get in a good routine then one slip up and before I know it I haven't worked out in months. I'm actually getting ready to do a barre video on YouTube. We'll see how that goes!

  8. You go girl! I work out 3-4 times a week. I'm a runner, though. Currently I'm training for half marathon #2. I have totally been interested in spin classes lately, though.

  9. I miss spinning! Before I had Blaire I was a member at the Y and loved to spin. I tolerated the rest. ;) I never could find a routine that had time for exercise after she was born. I just felt too guilty to spend any of my non-working hours at the gym instead of with her. I suppose waking up extra early was the answer but I was too tired to do it. Haha! I'm already thinking about how to get this baby weight off (but first I gotta get this baby out). My initial plan will be lots of walking in the neighborhood with the stroller. Hopefully that will do the trick!

  10. Two-a-days are always the best - because you feel like you just conquered so much! I love your routine and think you'll hit your goal before your upcoming trips!!! I try to get to the gym at least 5 times a week so 4 days during the workweek and once on the weekend!! If I can squeeze in a cardio with my barre workout I feel really good!

  12. Ok I'm seriously impressed with your 2 a days......I don't know if I could do that. I'm working out about 5x/week but my weight has been flatlined since July. Maintaining but not losing, which has been annoying. We have a Mexico trip In December so I'm gonna need to put it into hig gear one of these days.

  14. Wow I don't know how you're managing a workout schedule like that with a toddler, I"m super impressed! Hopefully I'm that good about it after our babe comes! I've been bad about working out during pregnancy but I know it will help shed the pounds after. I found a place for prenatal yoga on the weekends and I'm totally using this as motivation to get some more gym time in!

  18. Good for you for getting in some great workouts and impressive 2-a-days!! I do a barre class and it's not only trimmed my thighs significantly but also really helped strengthen my knees so I hope it helps your knees too!
