Weekends fly by way too fast. There is no doubt about it!! Friday was the day my Mom had to pack up and leave which always makes me sad and Brody too!! We decided to hit up Potterybarn and William Sonoma before she left which is about 45min from where I live. It was a fun little outing and on her way back to New Orleans.
After a full afternoon of shopping, Brody and I came home to relax before Daddy got home. My MIL came over to babysit so that Matt and I could head to a wedding reception. It was cocktail attire and it seemed like it took me forever to decide on what to wear. You all were so sweet that commented on my dress on Instagram because it made my night. I pulled out on old Milly dress that I wore the night Matt and I got engaged over 3 years ago!! It felt a lot bit snug around the hips, but it zipped and really looked cute! I was happy to break out an old dress again.
Saturday morning Brody had us up at the crack of dawn when all we wanted to do was sleep in!! No rest for the parents. Instead, we became super productive. Matt whipped up chocolate chip pancakes, Brody went down for a nap, I started unpacking Fall decorations and then I made a couple of new dips for football.
Brody woke up just in time for the Gator game to start. We had a few couples come over to join us for some football watching.
This is one of the new dips that I made and I can't wait to share with you on Tuesday. I definitely plan on making it again because our guests loved it and so did I!
This is what it looks like in the "man cave" during football season. Three TV's with three different games...sensory overload at it's finest.
Sunday was a pretty productive day doing things around the house, working out, and then having my brother's family over for dinner.
I'm looking forward to a productive week ahead. Hopefully Brody will be able to return to school this week. He stayed home all last week because of his cough and runny nose. To top it off, we got an email this weekend from one of the Mom's in our class saying her son was out of school all last week from Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus. Great, just great. I'll probably never be able to send him back to school.
Cheers to snotty nose kids and lots of germs!

ReplyDeleteUgh I hate the snotty nose! I will tell you it gets better, but he will probably stay sick the first year. Mine are both in full-time church daycare since I work, and their first years were the worst. Katelyn had tubes put in her ears in April because of constant ear infections, but now they are both much better. I hope he builds up that immune system quickly!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your dress, so pretty! And all your fall decorations are amazing. Such a fun and festive look. hope the snotty nose goes away!
ReplyDeleteLove the dress you wore to the reception! SO pretty! And OMG that dip... I can't wait to hear what all is in that!
