Five On Friday + Labor Day Sales

Happy Friday and Happy Holiday Weekend!
I've got a quick Five on Friday for you today with some awesome Holiday Sales for you too!

{ONE}
I've actually been trying to use the Instagram stories even though I'm not very consistent at it.  I think I'm trying to be better.  Anyway, I did film Madelyn during dinner time the other night and I was showing off her really neat "cool-it" plate.  Several of you messaged me to ask about it, so I thought I would share it here.  It's a simple plate that you keep in the freezer and after you make anything that gets too hot (pizza, pasta, quesadilla, etc), you place it on this cool it plate for just a second and then you have a happy baby.  Every Mom knows that there is nothing worse than having a screaming baby while you are making a meal and then having to wait for it to cool.  It's genius.

This post has been going viral on Facebook this week and it's totally true.  I feel like I'm such a sucky friend to all of my old friends that I no longer live in the same city with.  It's so hard sometimes to try and do it all.  I miss my friends so much and no that we are all only in this time in our life for a short period and we just get together when we can.  I may suck at returning text messages, but I promise it's not because I don't love you or you're not important :)

On the bright side...
I went down to Destin for the day on Wednesday with both kids to go visit a close friend of mine from Atlanta that was on vacation.  We both have two kids right about the same ages, but they have never met.  The kids played on the beach and though they were shy with each other for the first 5 minutes, they because fast friends.  It was so sweet to watch them together.
This visit reminded me how hard it can be right now and I couldn't dare pass up an opportunity of a friend being 1.5 hours away with her kids.  We may have only had  half of a day together and we were chasing around kids, but it felt so good just to see her again! Small efforts are so worth it!

Yesterday was meet the teacher day for us and it was so much fun.  Brody and Madelyn both met their new teachers and they did great.  Madelyn will be in the same room Brody was in when he was his age and when we were in there I kept looking at Brody not believing how big he has gotten.  I can't believe I'm already doing it with my second child.
