Five on Friday

Five on Friday

{One}
A friend of mine from college, Danielle, founded an amazing company called Conscious Coconut that I wanted to share with you guys today.  I'm always a sucker for beautiful packaging and then I found out that she gives back with every tube of coconut oil purchased, so I was completely sold {and blown away by her entrepreneurial skills}!  You can read her story here how she basically had an "Eat, Pray, Love" moment and came home with a new business.  I'm so impressed!

She teamed up with Feeding America to give a child in need a meal for every purchase of Conscious Coconut.  There are so many great uses for Coconut oil including eye make-up remover, lip balm, shaving cream, hair conditioner, cuticle cream, under eye cream and so much more.  I've been using mine a lot on the heels of my feet.  My heels started cracking some this pregnancy and now I put this on before bed every night and its helped tremendously.  The possibilities are endless.  You can enjoy a bottle of your own by purchasing here for $15 and you will also be feeding one of the 16 million children in the US a meal!

She is sweet to offer my readers Free Shipping with the code: MALONEFS
I hope you take a look at her awesome website and try out a tube.  I know all of you are using Coconut Oil in your household these days :)

On another note, I made a couple of things this week for a friend of mine that just had a baby.  I've been dying to try these lactation cookies.  I have to admit that at first bite, I was not blown away at all.  It tasted a little bitter and the consistency of the cookies were a little strange.  But after that first bite, they started tasting good.  And my friend swears she's really loved them!  She's been crumbling them over yogurt and said they were perfect.  They contain oatmeal, flax seeds and brewers yeast that are all supposed to help increase your milk supply.  The chocolate chips help add some yummy flavor :)   Natalie just wrote a post yesterday about 10 great dishes to bring to a new Mom or friend for an easy dinner.  I loved the suggestions.

I got to sneak away for a fun dinner with my SIL last night at one of our favorite restaurants.   It was just the two of us girls and it was heavenly.  The only thing that would have made it better would have been me being able to enjoy some delicious red wine!! #idigress #onlyonemoremonth  Anyway, with both of us having young kids right now; it seems nearly impossible sometimes for us to actually catch up when we're together. We are lucky to get together often, but our conversations are often interrupted or mostly side-tracked by little rugrats! So it was wonderful to get to fully catch up with no interruptions.  I was totally supposed to snap a cute picture of us out to dinner tonight and I forgot.

I came across this account on Instagram called @easytoddlermeals.  I'm loving her suggestions and just saw that she released her first E-Cookbook.  I haven't cooked any of her recipes yet, but I have several thumbnail.  I slowly see my son's tastebuds expanding (barely) and I want to make sure I'm introducing new foods to him and not just giving him the things that I know he will eat.  Does anyone else follow this account or tried any of her meals??

I'm headed back to my happy place {Destin} this weekend and I can't wait.  I hope to enjoy some nice R&R and get to visit with some of our cousins that our in town!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

    1. The brewers yeast seems to make it a little bitter, but they are still worth making!!! They freeze well too. I made one batch and baked 12 cookies to bring to my friend and froze the rest of the dough in small balls to use once baby #2 gets here!!!

  10. 3 Researches PROVE Why Coconut Oil Kills Belly Fat.

    The meaning of this is that you actually burn fat by consuming Coconut Fats (also coconut milk, coconut cream and coconut oil).

    These 3 studies from big medical magazines are sure to turn the traditional nutrition world upside down!
