Hi friends!! We're back....
We headed to Key West this past weekend with some friends for a little fun in the sun aka "adult spring break". My good friend, Courtney, started organizing this trip last August as a surprise for her husbands 40th birthday! It's pretty amazing that she pulled it off and he was completely shocked when we all jumped out at him in the Pensacola airport at 6am. It was so exciting.
We left at the crack of dawn on Thursday morning and made it to Key West by lunch time.
We checked into our home for the next 3 nights...
And then grabbed some lunch at Pepe's Cafe.
Thursday evening we had a really nice dinner planned at Latitudes on Sunset Key. We had to take a quick ferry ride over the the island and were able to catch the sunset.
I had the scallops with mushroom risotto which was delicious!!
I wore my Mara Hoffman maxi dress that's been in my closet for awhile waiting to get worn! The neon colors are so fun and it was perfect for this evening!
On Friday we went to brunch at Blue Heaven which was a really cool venue. The place stays on a wait, but it was so worth it. Post up at the bar and listen to live entertainment until your table is ready.

My breakfast that I made look like a smiley face :)
We hit the beach after brunch which was so nice. The weather was perfect and the water was warm enough to take a dip. It felt so good to lay out for a few hours and not be chasing around a 1 year old!! I wore my Rahrah Designs monogrammed swimsuit which I love!
After the beach we took advantage of the awesome little dip pool we had at the house. The backyard was small, but it actually fit a lot of people and it was so pretty and peaceful back there.
We had dinner that evening at Hot Tin Roof which we sat outside and had a pretty view of the water. The food was pretty good with lots of seafood choices and a ribeye that looked amazing that all the boys got.
Me and Courtney! Thanks so much for putting this awesome trip together, CB :)
Saturday most of the crew headed for a snorkeling trip, but Matt and I decided to skip the snorkeling because it was pretty windy and I've been known to get sea sick. We explored a little more of Key West and made our way to the Southern most point!
We met the rest of the group for lunch at Bo's Fish Wagon once they got off the boat. This place is a little hole in the wall spot that's known for their fried grouper sandwich. Everyone said it was amazing. I got the fried shrimp platter and it was incredible too!
After lunch we walked over to Dante's to take a look at the pool scene. This place was comical. Ass cheeks were out like nobody's business and it was apparent that this was the designated "spring breakers" hangout. We did't feel old at all....
We headed back home for our own pool party and later went to dinner at an Italian spot called La Trattoria - Oceanside. Apparently there are two locations for this restaurant. One is on Duval street which would have been closer to us and the other is "uptown" towards the airport. I'd say the food here was just okay, but we still enjoyed ourselves!
We had another super early morning flight on Sunday to head home. We were sad to say goodbye to the beautiful sunshine and warm weather, but I was excited to see my little guy back home. It was so much fun to have an adult getaway and get my beach fix before spring officially arrives in Pensacola!
Have you guys been to Key West before?? This was my first time here. It totally reminded me of New Orleans in a beach town. Duval St. mimics Bourbon St in New Orleans to a tee. It's a great city with beautiful sunsets.
